Reg and Penny Mowat “retired” to Mudgee in 1997 and in January 1998 opened Elton's Cafe! Eltons quickly became “the” cafe in Mudgee and was listed in the Sydney Morning Herald Good Food Guide in its first year of operation for “food” and “value for money”. Reg and Penny maintained that listing for the three years they owned the cafe.

After holidaying in France they worked on some tapenade recipes with a qualified Dietician & Nutritionist and Mowats of Mudgee began to make a very successful range of Tapenade and Pesto.

Now in response to demand a range of fresh pesto, dips and salsa has been added.
